THE IDEA HERE WAS TO INCLUDE A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT FLAVORS OF BANANA USING DIFFERENT BANANA PREPS IN ONE DRINK AND HAVE THEM WORK AS ISOLATED FLAVORS BUT ALSO WORK AS A COHESIVE DRINK.

THE SPIRIT BASE IS THE HIGH WEST SILVER OAT WHISKEY WHICH HAS A DISTINCTIVE BANANA RUNT CANDY NOTE RUNNING THROUGH IT. IT'S MIXED WITH A HEFEWEIZEN (THE AYINGER BRAUWEISSE) FOR THE BEER STYLE'S FAMOUS BANANA BREAD FLAVORS. THE ACTUAL BANANA COMES FROM A BANANA SODA I MADE WITH EQUAL PARTS ROASTED AND RAW BANANA. I ADDED AMARO AND LEMON JUICE TO GIVE IT SOME ACID, A LITTLE RELIEF IN THE TEXTURE AND ENSURE THE DRINK ISN'T OVERWHELMING.

THE NAME BANANAS IS MY BUSINESS IS ACTUALLY THE TITLE OF A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT CARMEN MIRANDA TAKEN FROM A MIRANDA QUOTE. I'VE ALWAYS BEEN REALLY INTO THAT TITLE. AS I'VE ALWAYS BEEN REALLY INTO BANANAS. SO WHEN I MADE DRINK THAT WAS ALL ABOUT BANANAS, I WAS THRILLED TO REMEMBER A GREAT TITLE TO REAPPROPRIATE.
