DOI MOI WAS A SOUTHEAST ASIAN RESTAURANT ON 14TH STREET IN WASHINGTON DC. WHAT CONSTITUED SOUTHEAST ASIAN CUISINE AND THE LEVEL OF DINING HAD SHIFTED MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS AT DOI MOI. OPENING IN 2O13 UNDER EXECUTIVE CHEF HAIDAR KAROUM AND CHEF DE CUISINE BRITTANY FRICK SOUTHEAST ASIAN MEANT THAI AND VIETNAMESE STREET FOOD. IT LATER BECAME FRENCH-IFIED AND FANCY. THEN EXPANDED TO INCLUDE BURMESE AND SRI LANKAN. THE REMAINING KULLER FAMILY OWNERS SOLD THE RESTAURANT IN 2O19.

 

MY DRINK LIST THERE WAS MADE UP PRIMARILY OF WESTERN STYLE DRINKS USING SOUTHEAST ASIAN INGREDIENTS BUT ALSO INCLUDED MORE TRADITIONAL DRINKS LIKE THE SALT-CURED KEY LIME CHANH MUOI.
